WEATHER: Leftover moisture converts to dense fog, cold front moves in tomorrow

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Tuesday's cold rain has moved away, but the calling card is leftover moisture, and that's been converted into dense fog this morning, so give yourself extra time and drive carefully to work or school.  Brighter skies return this afternoon as readings rebound into the upper 50s.

Dry and chilly tonight, fog should not be much of an issue, lows will fall back into the 30s and 40s again.

A cold front moves through on Thursday with only a brief shower or snow shower in the mountains.  The cold air won't arrive until Thursday night, so daytime highs will still be seasonal, in the mid 50s.

It all changes Friday though, as the seriously cold air shows up and drives high temperatures down into the 40s through the weekend, with lows into the low 20s.  Some areas outside of Charlotte will drop to the upper teens Saturday morning, yikes!
