SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Salisbury radio station Memories 1280, WSAT, is now broadcasting on the FM side of the dial as well as the AM.  The station can be found at 103.3 FM.

Station manager and morning show host Buddy Poole said the FM broadcast will cover a larger area of the county and have a better sound than what can be produced on AM.

The FM transmitter was placed on the WSAT tower on Jake Alexander Boulevard.

WSAT is owned by 2B Productions as part of the Catawba College Foundation.  2B Productions also owns and operates WTIX-1410 in Concord which is also heard on the FM dial at 104.1.

WBTV's Al Conklin provides local weather and WBTV's David Whisenant provides a three times daily local newscast.

Memories Radio plays pop hits from the late 50's through the 80's, and broadcasts play by play high school sports, Catawba College Indian athletics, and UNC football and basketball.

Catawba College students interested in a career in broadcasting can obtain internships at the radio station and provide some of the content for special features like The Catawba Minute with Lance Poole.
