Police: Woman slashed in face by boyfriend

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Salisbury Police are investigating what they say is a very disturbing case of domestic violence that played out in a bank parking lot on Wednesday.

Roland Rico Harris, 36, of the 200 block of N. Long St., in Salisbury, is being held without bond, charged with robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and second degree kidnapping.

According to the report, Harris was arguing with his girlfriend on the front porch of her home, saying "tell me the truth b**** or I will kill you."

Harris then used a blade from a box cutter to slash at least three cuts to the woman's face, police say.  The woman grabbed at the blade, cutting her left hand.

Police say Harris then told the woman that she was going to go with him to the ATM at SunTrust Bank on W. Innes Street so that he could get money to use to go to the ABC store.

When Harris pulled his Pontiac Trans Sport van into the parking lot, he drove up onto a median.  Another person in the parking lot stopped to help Harris and noticed that the woman was in the van.

The bystander called 911 and police arrived within a few minutes.

The woman was taken to Carolinas Medical Center to be treated for several cuts.  Two knives and a razor were taken from Harris, according to police.
