Sunshine returns today with much colder air heading into the mountains, where highs will only rebound to the low 40s. For the moment mild air will hold on east of the high country, as highs will be above average one more day across the NC/SC Piedmont with afternoon readings in the low to mid 60s.
The average high for December 1 in Charlotte is 57.
It will be cooler on Friday and Saturday when we won't make it out of the 50s - feeling a little more like December.
Clouds and an increasing rain chance returns by the end of the weekend. Afternoon readings Sunday will struggle to make it back to near 50.
As of now, another decent chance for rain comes back into the picture Monday and Tuesday; we'll be monitoring.
