Two carts of shoplifted goods don't get past the door at Walmart

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Two shopping carts loaded down with more than $1200 worth of items never made it past the front door of the Salisbury Walmart, though the two men pushing the carts did.

According to a Salisbury Police report, on Sunday, two men loaded up the buggies with items like electronics, including a computer and video camera, as well as clothes and other items, and headed for the front door, hoping to casually walk out of the busy store unnoticed.

One of the men had already been banned from the store and was recognized by a loss prevention officer.  That suspect took off running, and the second suspect left seconds later.

When police arrived both men were gone, but workers were able to give a good description of the car they were driving, describing a dark gray or black Pontiac G6.

The items, with a total value of $1241.74, were returned to the shelves.

Police believe they know the suspects and are continuing to work the case.
