TODAY: The shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott caused a great deal of divide in Charlotte. Today the district attorney is going to announce whether the CMPD officer who fired the fatal show will be charged in his death. We're going to be live at the D.A.'s office reporting on the developments.

We know Scott's family will be there at 9 a.m. to meet with the officials with the D.A.'s office before the announcement is made. WBTV's Ashton Pellom will go into what will be discussed in that closed door meeting. We'll also share what CMPD is doing to prepare for any type of unrest that may arise when that decision is made public.

Gatlinburg LATEST: WBTV's Kristen Miranda was first to show you the dramatic images of the fires burning in Gatlinburg, TN this time yesterday morning. That's why we have the Alert Center so you don't have to wait for details on breaking stories. This morning, she got her hands on some more dramatic images of the devastation from the fires. We're hearing from you as well, wanting to know how you can help. We'll share those details on air.

Today is the day! The first flight from Charlotte to Cuba will take off at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. WBTV's Mark Davenport is at the airport talking about the significance of the flight and what future passengers interested in flying to Havana can expect.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: When I drove in to work this morning, the roads were wetter than they were this time yesterday. We need the rain though! If you agree, there is more expected to fall later in the day. We're making sure you're prepared for that. WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin will have the latest models and pinpoint when and where the rain will fall.

We're live on air now. Go ahead and tune in!
