Rapper ‘Kodak Black’ banned from South Carolina, charged with cr - | WBTV Charlotte

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The rapper known as Kodak Black is only allowed in South Carolina for court appearances after he was booked into the Florence County Detention Center and charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to Twelfth Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements.

According to online information from the Florence County Detention Center, 19-year-old Dieuson Octave, known as recording artist Kodak Black, was booked into the detention center at 11:04 p.m. Monday.

Octave was arrested in St. Lucie County, Florida in August and was extradited to Florence Monday on outstanding warrants, according to the St. Lucie Sheriff’s Office.

Clements said that Octave is currently under house arrest in his home in Florida, except for a previously scheduled concert appearance.

Octave can’t comment on his allegations in any form. If he violates that bond order, it could be revoked, Clements added.

If convicted, Octave could face up to 30 years in prison, according to Clements.

Octave was born and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida, and began rapping in 2009 at the age of 12, according to hip hop publication XXL. He signed a deal with Atlantic Records in 2015.
