Front will clear the clouds Friday and bring cooler weekend temps

A cold front that moved through during the pre-dawn hours produced a few spotty showers as it moved briskly across our region and its now to our east moving away. Unfortunately, much needed measurable rain was - once again - not in the cards for most of us.

A mostly cloudy sky and a breeze overnight has kept nighttime temperature up, so most spots are in the low 60s for commuting time today. Then, a stiff northerly breeze behind the front clears out the clouds and returns the sunshine for the rest of the day and it will be cooler - only in the low 70s this afternoon.

Saturday is cooler still, as we don't make it out of the 60s for highs (which is actually just back to our normal of 67° for the time of year). Perhaps more impressively lows over the weekend will dip into the upper 30s Saturday and Sunday nights.

The rest of the weekend and next week will be in the low 70s each afternoon with mainly dry conditions persisting.
