An upscale retailer sells food items online for the holidays and this year, their collard greens are causing an uproar on social media.
For $66 and $15 shipping and handling, Neiman Marcus will deliver frozen greens to your door. According to their website, the collard greens are seasoned with just the right amount of spices and bacon. An order includes four 12-oz. trays; serves 8-10.
We went to the Charlotte Farmer's Market for a little price comparison, and purchased 30 pounds of raw collards for $27.50.
Many of the people we spoke with say, they'd prefer to save their money and just make them at home.
If that's not your thing, a local company, KW Collards, sells pre-cooked collards in 32 ounce Mason jars for around $10.99.
We asked company owner and collard chef Kizito Wademi about his online competition. He doesn't seem to be too worried.
