WEATHER: Temps to reach low 70s, rain chances remain low

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Once again, another front has crossed the area and gone pretty much unnoticed. The wind shift behind this 'back door' front, which slid down the mid-Atlantic coast overnight, will increase the flow from the east pushing damp air our way from the Atlantic ocean.

With that in mind, expect less sunshine today, especially the first half of the day, and cooler afternoon readings with highs only in the low 70s.

That all ends again Wednesday and Thursday as we jump right back up to near 80°. The best rain chance this week comes on Thursday, and even that is only a 20% chance.

Behind Thursday's front, another shot of cool air arrives and this time it will actually push our temperatures down close to the seasonal averages, which are now around 43° for lows and 67° for highs.  Dry conditions look to persist for Friday and the weekend.
