CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two Charlotte firefighters had to be transported to the hospital Monday afternoon after being injured while fighting a house fire in south Charlotte.

The fire broke out around 2 p.m. Monday along the 9100-block of Covey Hollow Court.

According to Charlotte Fire, it took nearly two dozen firefighters about 26 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Charlotte Fire said two firefighters were injured and had to be taken for treatment for their injuries, which didn't appear to be major injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say it appears the house was vacant when the fire started.
