Car shopping mistakes that can cost you

As we approach the holiday season, beware of car shopping mistakes that can cost you thousands.  LeeAnn Shattuck, The Car Chick, stopped by WBTV News Saturday Morning to share three things to watch out for.

1. Getting caught up in the holiday shopping frenzy

2. Assuming the car you want is even “on sale” and that a huge discount is available just because it’s the end of the year

3. Waiting until the last minute - the busiest time at car dealerships is the week between Christmas and New Year’s. It’s like Black Friday at the mall.

Bottom line:

Approach holiday car shopping with the same diligence and patience as any other time of year.
Buying a car should be a PROCESS, not an EVENT. Give yourself (and the dealers) some time.
Do your homework first and then shop around with multiple dealers to get the best deal.
