#30Tipsin30Days – Day 19: The Body Achieves what the Mind believes

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - #30Tipsin30Days – Day 19: The Body Achieves what the Mind believes.

Mind over matter. You've heard it before. BUT it's so true – especially when you're trying to make (somewhat) radical changes, and stick to them!

Our bodies can withstand just about anything. It's your mind you have to get on board. Folks are so quick say, "Oh, I could NEVER give up sugar." My response most of the time? "You could. You just don't want to."

I truly believe that you can do anything you set your mind to. I look back over things I've been able to accomplish, including one that happened before #TeamNOSugar even began. That time I became a triathlete! I swam 250 yards (10 laps), bike 9 miles AND topped it off with a two mile run. I was at least 250 pounds in the photo of me crossing the finish line of the Rambling Rose in 2011 (and yes, that's REALLY me). So even before I transformed my body, my health – and my life I had proven that the body achieves what the mind believes.

Or, that time I ran my first 10K in 2013. I felt like such a rock star crossing that finish line. My goal was to run the ENTIRE 6.2 miles – and I did.  I was eight months in to #TeamNOSugar at that time. Look at the difference between the two pictures. I knew if I could complete a triathlon at a much heavier weight – than nothing was impossible!

You CAN succeed with this lifestyle (no, it's not a diet). You just need to get your mind right.
