CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Each week during the school year, Project L.I.F.T. selects a student who is excelling not only inside the classroom, but outside as well. The student - along with their favorite teacher - is featured every Wednesday on WBTV News on Bounce at 8 p.m. The program operates within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System.

This week's scholar is Major Robinson II, an 8th grader at Ranson Middle School.

Major is a hard-working student with a strong work ethic. In the classroom, he is focused and determined advance in all areas.

His goals are to make the honor roll and to gain a good start in preparing for high school.

In addition to excelling in the classroom, Major is a musician who plays the drums and the trumpet. In fact, he often has volunteered to play for his church and community. He also plays league football and basketball, and plans to return to track and field this spring.

He's a huge Panthers fan and Tar Heel fan. And he loves to dance!

Favorite Things to do: Play Football & Basketball, Dance, and Drumming

He has been playing the drums since he was 2yrs old. His father is a drummer and he was inspired and taught by his dad.

Inspirational Quote that Governs his Day: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
