CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - After a mild start around 60°, this afternoon's high will be back in the mid 80s, challenging the record of 87° set back in 1938. We'll likely do the same on Thursday, challenging another record which currently stands at 86 set in 1926. These are temperatures more typical in early September, wow!
By Friday, we'll start to see some changes. A cold front will more though, bringing cooler temperatures, as highs will scale back to the mid 70s. We could stand some rain in this part of the state, but there is only a 30% chance.
Fall weather slams back into the Carolinas over the weekend. Highs will be in the 60s on Saturday, with overnight lows falling back to the low 40s in town (colder 30s north of I-40 and in the mountains). We should rebound to near 70° on Sunday.
