Hunted and busted

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

Tonight, police arrest a man they’ve been looking for after the Cash America Pawn Shop on Wilkinson was robbed last week.  25-year old Jamaal Westbrooks is in jail.  Police say he and an 18-year old were involved in a shootout with police during the robbery.  The teen was hit.  Police say Westbrooks got away—until tonight.

Months after a young woman contracted a brain eating amoeba at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, CEO Jeff Wise finally speaks public ally—but only to Mecklenburg Commissioners who’ve just taken decisive action to regulate the business.  We’ll tell you what they plan at 11:00.

Sad story in the University area—a man needed help and a good Samaritan responded.  Then, the man in need wound up stealing from the one who helped.

Not much, if any, rain in sight, and the local lakes are running a very low levels.  Eric Thomas says our October heatwave isn’t helping.  But after tomorrow, it might feel more like fall.

Please join Molly Grantham, Eric Thomas, Delano Little and me for WBTV News at 11:00 tonight!
