CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Employees from the Concord Mills Olive Garden remembered their young coworker Saturday morning by releasing balloons in her honor.

Kaylee Elizabeth Goodman, 18, died after falling from a ledge at Linville Falls last weekend.

Their goal was to pay tribute to a "bright, young life that was cut tragically short." Organizers said they chose pink balloon specifically to honor Kaylee.

Last weekend, Goodman was reportedly hiking with friends around 7 p.m. when she attempted to go over a wall/ledge and lost her footing. Early reports show Goodman fell between 50 and 70 feet to the Linville River. Officials believe she was dead when paramedics arrived.
