$5,000 reward being offered for info in fatal shooting of Lancaster man

LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) -

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information in the deadly shooting of 32-year-old Yusef Ali Abdus-Salaam.

Abdus-Salaam, of Downey Drive in Lancaster, was shot Tuesday night along the 300 block of Hampton Road.

Police said they responded to a call for a reported shooting and found Abdus-Salaam lying on the ground.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Investigators have not said what may have led to the shooting, and say they are relying on witnesses to come forward. 

"Currently authorities are offering a reward of up to $5000.00 for credible information that leads to the identification and successful prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Abdus-Salaam," the Lancaster Police Department says.

Police say the shooting does not appear to be related to other recent shootings.
