(WBTV) - Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever felt as if you were a bully? In many cases there can be a fine line that many of us are unaware of.
But when it comes to being bullied as children it can cause a traumatic experiences which eventually weeds itself into our adulthood and can have a power of shifting the dynamics of how we perceive life, and how we handle many adult situations.
What is Bullying?
Bullying is a distinctive pattern of deliberately harming and humiliating others. It's a very durable behavioral style, largely because bullies get what they want, act as they want, because systematically they know they will never be confronted because of their behavior.
They will push, taunt, and demonize anyone they perceive to be weaker or less fortunate than they. Bullying in my opinion is more of a mental violation, because once a series of events have taken place we expect this behavior from the aggressor as a constant.
However, in may cases, bullies are made, not born, and have either been bullied, hurt and rejected, or hiding deep self resentment which is shielded by their behavior. Keeping in mind, many bullies humiliate because they don't want you to visualize their own pain.
Things to remember...
Bullies couldn't exist without victims, and they don't pick on just anyone; those singled out lack assertiveness and radiate fear long before they ever encounter a bully.
No one likes a bully, but no one likes a victim either. Grown-up bullies wreak havoc in their relationships and in the workplace. For us to grow we must protect ourselves, acknowledge what is taking place, and grow forward.
Remember, we are better than we can ever imagine.
