STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - In 92 years, no one has ever called Margaret Carter lazy.

She works two days a week as the oldest employee of Statesville's K-mart. She is in charge of, and even the honorary "CEO" of the footwear department. She's worked there for 28 years.

Margaret spends her off-days in her yard blowing leaves or weed-eating. She dabbles in crocheting, painting and knitting.

But recently, Margaret was with a group of church friends discussing "bucket list" items. The 92-year-old decided she wanted to take a ride on a zip line course.

"I wanted to see if I was still courageous enough to do it," Margaret said.

Boy was she.

She strapped on a harness and tied in and zipped around the course in High Point. "I even got stuck once for about 10 or 15 minutes," she said.

But fear never crossed her mind, "I promise, I didn't get scared once."

Margaret's work ethic and her fearless nature inspires everyone around her. When asked why she continues working and taking risks even her doctor said wasn't a good idea, Margaret said, "Numbers don't count, it's how you feel in your head."

She is currently planning more adventures and has no plans to give up her job at K-Mart anytime soon.
