(WBTV) - Saying sorry for some is an easy task while for others a hard thing to do.
In any event, some time in our lives we will be faced with the daunting task of having to say sorry for something. However, saying sorry is not just a phrase of a couple of words, but a message which can change the tone of any relationship.
There are a couple of rules which must be put in place to ensure that your apology is heard and received.
Apologize with a selfless motive. (Never apologize with a "but") A sincere apology leaves any justification of maintaining personal ground at the door. It is imperative to apologize with not hidden motive or agenda but strictly pure intentions.
Apologize the way you would want others to apologize to you. Half-hearted, absent emotionless apologies are never the answer. If you want to be treated a certain way than treat others the way you would want to be treated, and that includes how you apologize for wrongs you have done.
Apologize to heal while making room to end. Just by simply apologizing it does not bring a situation to an end but opens the door to the first step which is healing. An apology doesn't make the situation/wrong go away - it opens up the door to healing which is the first and most important step.
Apologizing is never easy, but it is worth it. And apologizing can set the tone for a life well pleased and relieved. Have your best day yet.
