Six men arrested in undercover child predator operation

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Six men were arrested in an undercover investigation targeting online sex predators targeting children. 

The offenses happened between Sept. 15 and Oct. 4, and included charges of soliciting a child online for sex.

During the operation, the Lincolnton Police Department arrested and charged 47-year-old Delvin Roger Fox, 43-year-old Chris Scott Nance, 30-year-old Matthew Wade Packard, 55-year-old Terrence John Reed, 63-year-old Monte Lynn Wall and 63-year-old Jeffrey Ralph Talbott.

  • Fox was arrested Tuesday and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was given a $50,000 secured bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail. 
  • Nance was arrested Sept. 15 and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was given a $50,000 bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail.
  • Packard was arrested Sept. 27 and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was given a $25,000 secured bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail.
  • Reed was arrested Sept. 26 and charged with solicitation of a child by computer for an unlawful sex act , appearing to meet the child and disseminating obscene images to a minor. Reed was given a $75,000 secured bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail.
  • Wall was arrested Sept. 29 and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act, appearing to meet the child and disseminating obscene images to a minor. He was given a $50,000 secured bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail. 
  • Talbott was arrested Sept. 23 and charged with solicitation of a child by computer for an unlawful sex act, appearing to meet the child and disseminating obscene images to a minor. Talbott was given a $70,000 secured bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail. 

“The Lincolnton Police Department is constantly working hard to identify, investigate, and apprehend online sexual predators that target children as victims.  These offenders have utilized social media as a means to target children," said Lt. Jason Munday. “Our goal is to protect as many potential child victims from ever being victimized through these proactive operations.”
