Castaways Seafood holding grand opening on Saturday

The restaurant has been open for a few weeks, but Saturday will mark the official grand opening for Castaways Seafood at 119 N. Link Avenue in Salisbury.

The name and location are the same as the former Castaways, but is now under new ownership.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Jesse Goldin and Duke Hunt.

"Duke Hunt has the restaurant background being the former co-owner of Rusty's Pub and Grub and I changed from working in NASCAR at Richard Childress Racing to owning a restaurant," Jesse said.  "Cooking is a passion for us both. We just want to serve good, quality seafood and steaks to Salisbury and the surrounding area."

The restaurant specializes in seafood but has a varied menu.  Lunch specials include items such as a steak aioli sandwich with macaroni salad and a drink for $9, or a marinaded steak salad.  A popular dinner item is the twelve ounce blackened rib-eye with red skin garlic mashed potatoes and a side salad for $19.

Other items include a seafood pizza, french fries smothered in New Sarum pepper jack beer cheese with bacon, Oysters Rockefeller, and shrimp, clams, mussels, and scallops sauteed in a garlic cream sauce over fettuccine, along with more traditional seafood selections.

The restaurant, which was originally built as a Quincy's Steakhouse, also has a banquet room that can be rented by groups.

The grand opening will be held on Saturday afternoon.

Castaways is one of several new restaurants that either have opened or will be opening in the coming weeks in Salisbury.
