Rowan-Cabarrus Community College hosting sessions for career seekers

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hosting a series of short information sessions on careers fields such as automotive systems, heating and air, law enforcement, cosmetology, medical office.

“If you’re out of work or considering looking for something new, you may want to take some time to research potential job opportunities. I would strongly encourage those looking to come out to a quick information session. You can learn about the career and job opportunities in a variety of fields and determine what might be a good fit for you,” said Beth Bowman, coordinator of this initiative.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts and ask questions about the training and job prospects.

“Many of these fields have a high demand for employees and we are eager to help connect those looking with these opportunities,” continued Bowman.

Thirty-minute sessions are offered every Wednesday morning at the NC Works office located at 1904 South Main St., Salisbury, N.C. Upcoming sessions include:

·         October 5

o   10 a.m. – Basic Law Enforcement

o   10:45 a.m. – Heating Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

·         October 12

o   10 a.m. – Medical Office and Office Administration  

o   10:45 a.m. – Business Administration and Motorsports Management

·         October 19

o   10 a.m. – Radiography

o   10:45 a.m. – Biotechnology

·         October 26

o   10 a.m. – Early Childhood and School Age Education 

o   10:45 a.m. – Automotive Systems Technology

·         November 2

o   10 a.m. – Information Technology 

o   10:45 a.m. – Cosmetology

·         November 9

o   10 a.m. – Occupational Therapy

“We are bringing education to the students right where they are in their lives,’” said Dr. Carol S. Spalding. “While it’s not possible for every program, our overarching goal is to be available and accessible to students. That’s why our students can now earn several degrees entirely online. It’s why the high school equivalency classes are offered morning, afternoon, evening, online and at multiple locations across the College’s service area.”
