CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A 16-year-old girl reported missing last week was spotted walking alone in uptown Charlotte over the weekend.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Ayanna Hatcher was reported missing around 8:50 p.m. Thursday from Faulconbridge Lane. Hatcher was spotted walking alone near E 7th Street and N McDowell Street Saturday. Police say she was wearing red denim shorts and a multicolored shirt.

"Miss. Hatcher has been diagnosed with a cognitive issue and there is some concern for her safety and wellbeing," police say.

Hatcher is described as being around 5'6" and 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

When Hatcher was reported missing from Faulconbridge Lane, she was wearing a different outfit. Police say she was wearing an orange colored scarf wrapped around her hair in a bun, a black tank top, beige tribal-print leggings, and was carrying a pink backpack.

CMPD says their Missing Person Unit is conducting an investigation into Hatcher's disappearance.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
