CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A cold front is on the way, but before it arrives midweek, we'll remain unsettled with the likelihood of more showers and heavy thunderstorms.
Charlotte and the Piedmont will remain mostly cloudy but dry this morning for your commute. Rainfall this morning will soon exit the mountains and foothills and we should dry out across all of the WBTV viewing area for the midday hours.
Later this afternoon, another line of showers and storms will push east from the mountains and foothills and drift across the Piedmont this evening. Watch for the potential for more flooding. Highs today will run above average in the low to mid 80s.
Wednesday will be a day of transition. High temperatures will still be in the low 80s and the rain chances are cut back to about 30% as the slow moving front will still be close by.
By Thursday and Friday, highs will be in the mid 70s and the humidity levels will make it feel like fall. Lows at night will run very cool, with 50s widespread and some neighborhoods in outlying areas even dipping into the 40s. Those fall-like conditions will last through the weekend.
