CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte are asking for the public's help identifying a victim and his attackers in an assault that was caught on video in uptown.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the E. 4th Street side of the Epicentre parking deck, which is on E.Trade Street. Officials said surveillance video shows about ten males chase another male into the parking deck then assaulted him.

The attackers can be seen on video, police said, hitting and kicking the male, then pulling his pants off as they continue to assault him.

Police said the victim, a white male in short brown hair and light-colored pants, has not come forward to report the crime.

At the time of the attack, riots and looting were taking place throughout uptown Charlotte after the fatal officer-involved shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. Police believe surveillance video of looting at a nearby CVS shows some of the men involved in the assault.
