NFL: Panthers to play Vikings in Charlotte Sunday, events continuing to be monitored

WBTV WBTV
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Carolina Panthers will play the Minnesota Vikings as scheduled on Sunday, the NFL says.

The NFL says,"we are monitoring events in Charlotte and have been in communication with local officials and authorities, and both the Carolina Panthers and the Minnesota Vikings."

The Carolina Panthers said earlier they were continuing to monitor events in regards to Sunday's game.

WBTV reached out to the Carolina Panthers asking what the plan was for Sunday's game following unrest in Charlotte.

The city has experienced unrest following the fatal shooting of Keith Scott.

“We are in contact with government officials, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the NFL. We are continuing to monitor events as we prepare for Sunday’s home game," the Panthers said in a statement Thursday.
