A woman died in a crash involving a school bus on Cox Mill Road, according to troopers.

The crash happened near Cox Mill High School in Concord just after 8:00 am. Cox Mill Road was closed for several hours but was reopened just after 10:30.

According to State Troopers, a woman, now identified as Olivia Dawn Baltimore, 35, of Concord, crashed her BMW into the bus after crossing the center line.

“The silver BMW was traveling north on Cox Mill Road toward Poplar Tent, traveled off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, came back onto the roadway and went left of center striking the bus left headlight to left headlight," said Trooper Barry Burnette.

Baltimore's 13-year-old son, who was also in the car, was hurt and taken to the hospital. The extent of the teen's injuries is unknown at this time.

Bus driver Barbara Jean Fink of Concord was taken to the hospital, along with adult monitor, Ray Allen Hilton of Concord.  According to Trooper Burnette, injuries to Fink and Hilton were not life threatening.

Bus #359 had just dropped off students at W.R. Odell Primary School and was beginning its next route to pick up students at CC Griffin Middle School.
