CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Cynthia Roeth nailed the contest win with her Facebook submission for reasons why she's the best fit to ride-along in WBTV's Storm3.

Cynthia wrote, "I will ride along happily chasing storms (or stopping for slushies) with the disposition of a golden retriever: never interfering, with minimal potty stops."

She really sealed the deal by suggesting she'd quietly sit in her co-pilot seat and do glute squeezes if she became bored.

We picked her up Monday just before lunch. A crowd of co-workers at the Jewish Community Center in Charlotte made signs and cheered her on as she hopped into the truck for a ride.

Cynthia won the contest because her submission was clever and downright hysterical. Her demeanor in real life proved to be just as funny.

"There's a lot of rules you have to follow in life and after a while, when you get to be my age, you just stop paying attention," Roeth said.

From legitimate wisdom to a ride-along jam session, Cynthia sang along with her favorite Cher song and offered up great advice on life. She should know. The 55-year-old woman is celebrating nine years as a breast cancer survivor.

Here's to an awesome afternoon with an awesome woman!
