CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - These days, Joe Tull can be found inside this food truck making customer favorites from "The Plated Pallette."
"You meet a lot of good people," he said.
This hasn't been his life's work. Tull used to work in the airline industry, but wanted to do something on his own. Three years ago, he bought this truck where he and Yolando Williams have worked together since.
"Started at the, what used to be, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater doing some of their concerts," Tull said. "Lunches in the Charlotte, south Charlotte-area. Of course, these Food Truck Fridays are a real big deal."
As with any job, there are perks.
"It's not like I have anyone to report to but myself - so that's an upside also," he said.
This weekend, he will take orders in the largest food truck festival in the southeast -- right here in Charlotte. More than 100 trucks from both Carolinas, Georgia and further will be here.
"You can bring your family, you can bring your friends," he said. "There is something for everyone."
