Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month at this Week’s Varsity Football Game

WHEN:  Friday, September 9, 2016 @ 7pm

  Myers Park Varsity Football Game

WHERE: Myers Park High School  -  2400 Colony Rd, Charlotte

WHAT: In honor of The Isabella Santos Foundation and Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of Myers Park High School students will sport their best purple attire at Friday night’s football game versus South Meck. Students will also be raising money through donations for the organization.

WHY: Established in 2009, The Isabella Santos Foundation was founded in honor of Isabella Santos who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at the age of two. Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer that affects approximately 750 children a year, with the survival rate of less than 40%. Isabella battled the disease for five years, but due to the lack of funding for pediatric cancer, she sadly lost her battle. The Isabella Santos Foundation continues in honor of Isabella’s mission to find a cure for pediatric cancer. Since 2009, The Isabella Santos Foundation has donated more than $1,000,000 to Neuroblastoma cancer research and local children’s charities.
