Life Hack: Waterproof Shoes

Here’s an easy way to waterproof your canvas shoes using nothing but beeswax and a blow dryer.

Rub the beeswax over the entirety of the shoe. Things are a little easier on your hands if you wear dishwashing gloves or rubber gloves

Next, use a blow dryer to seal the deal. Melt the wax all over the shoe then let set for about 5 minutes.

When you’re done, your shoes will be largely waterproof. Splash a little water to test it out.

Fair warning though, this also means your shoes won't breathe as well, so you might not want to use this on any shoes you plan on wearing when its not wet outside.

If you're looking for other options, Scotchgard also works great on canvas, and beeswax based products like Sno-Seal are ideal for leather.
