CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - We've all been there before - you grab a battery to put in an electronic device and nothing. The battery is dead.
So how can you easily determine if that battery you just found is a good battery? Just bounce it!
According to life hackers, you should be able to bounce the batteries on a hard surface to see. The idea: Drop the battery from six inches away. If it bounces once, it's good. More than once, it's bad.
There is a very thorough scientific explanation about the chemicals inside a battery and once they are used up - it reduces the "antibounce effect."
This test is supposed to work equally for AA, AAA, C, D and 9 Volt alkaline batteries.
