WEATHER: Humidity increases into weekend, rain chances remain low

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - We'll be pushing the mid 90s again this afternoon, and as our humidity gradually comes back up going into the weekend, isolated showers can't be completely ruled out over the next few days.

Any showers that pop this afternoon and evening should be few and far between, making the odds for dry football weather quite high. And both the Panthers and the high school teams are playing! But it will be hot, with kick off temperatures around 90°, wow!

Rain coverage stays around 10-20% through the weekend, so most areas will still miss out on any substantial (and much needed) rainfall. Highs will hold in the 90s right through the weekend.

The first day of school Monday will still be summer-like with highs around 90° along with high humidity and only a 10% chance for a shower.

Early next week looks quiet, but we are still watching the tropics, and there is one weather model that is trying to bring tropical moisture into the Carolinas by the middle part of next week. However, this potential system has yet to develop, so until it does, there will be high uncertainty for the forecast mid-late next week across the Southeastern US, so stay tuned.
