CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man has been taken into custody by police after he barricaded himself inside a home in west Charlotte. Family members say a one-year-old boy was also inside the home.

Officers with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and SWAT were called out Thursday morning to a home along Reid Avenue near West Boulevard, in west Charlotte.

WBTV learned that CMPD and SWAT were operating under the idea there was a juvenile barricaded inside the home with the suspect they are after. Family members said there was a small boy inside the home.

The man was brought out of the home just after 11 a.m. Thursday morning. He was handcuffed and had a visible limb when he was brought out by officers.

SWAT also came out with the young boy wrapped in blankets. A SWAT member was comforting the child on way to his mother.

No names have been released in the incident.
