CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Ever go to something and get unexpectedly blown away with emotion? Today. Luncheon for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Charlotte. I was honored to be their emcee. I was not prepared to meet so many Survivors and hear life testimonies.

We all went off script. Always the way to go.

Its "Light the Night Walk" is in November. Annual fundraiser to help fight these blood cancers. I didn't know this, but heard today that for kids under the age of 18, leukemia is the most common type of cancer.

Thanks so much to LLS for having me and in particular to Julie and Maggie for sharing their stories. 23-year-old Maggie was diagnosed with leukemia three months after having her baby girl, Isabella. Maggie is now in remission, growing back her hair and Isabella is now 2.
