CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A cold front has moved through the Carolinas and big changes in the weather pattern are underway.
This morning is starting out in the 60s for a lot of us, something that hasn't happened in a month! That's right. Lows haven't fallen below 70° in 30 days! We're starting out in the mid to upper 60s this morning, but you will really notice changes Tuesday and Wednesday morning when we start out in the low to mid 60s, cooler 50s in outlying areas.
For kids heading back to school in Avery, Ashe and Watauga County, it will feel a little like fall today. Lows will start out in the 50s with highs in the mid 70s.
High pressure will take over for a few days. Sun will be the rule through Wednesday with afternoon readings in the mid 80s and rain chances close to zero. Lower humidity will also be a nice change as well.
By the end of the week, highs will slowly creep back to the low 90s - so we're not completely done with summer yet. Still a little break will be a welcome change for most.
