Boy reacts to bullying by starting a 'Back to School' drive

Boy stops bully, raises money for needy

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - Jordan Hinnant will waste no time telling you he didn't appreciate hearing his friend being picked on because of the clothes he was wearing.

"I went up to them and asked why they were picking on him, and they said, 'because his clothes are ugly,'" Jordan said.

That incident gave Jordan an idea that came straight from his heart.

"I told my mom I wanted to start a foundation that collects clothes for kids," Jordan said.

The 11-year-old decided to start collecting clothes, shoes and book bags for kids getting ready for the upcoming school year. The Rock Hill boy is about to start middle school, where he knows sometimes kids are bullied for not wearing "cool clothes."

Jordan has a message for other kids who might be a little caught up in themselves.

"Don't just think about you," he said, "you have to think about other people too. It makes you feel good."
