(WBTV) - Storm3 is a state-of-the-art mobile weather lab that is On Your Side during severe weather. But, it doesn't chase storms. It keeps you ahead of them – giving you immediate, comprehensive information when you need it most.

WBTV's First Alert Weather is Charlotte's certified most accurate and Storm3 allows our meteorologists to collect even more information for our viewers when the skies are active.

It has cutting edge technology, including three high-definition cameras – one armed with 30X zoom to capture some of Mother Nature's most incredible images. The onboard weather center measures data such as rain totals and wind speeds up to 120 miles per hour.

Storm3 also connects back to the WBTV First Alert Weather Center, where it has access to Charlotte's most powerful Doppler radar network. With monitors and even a green screen, Storm3 is a rolling weather studio capable of broadcasting during the most extreme conditions.

When potentially dangerous weather threatens our viewing area, the WBTV First Alert Weather team is committed to alerting you first because it can save lives.

Your safety is important – and so is ours. Storm3 is not a "storm chaser" and our teams have been trained to stay out of harm's way. So, when the thunder rolls, so will we – while you safely watch from the comfort of wherever you'd like.

Storm3 is a modified 2016 Toyota Sequoia from Scott Clark Toyota in Charlotte, NC. It features lifted suspension and oversized off-road tires with reflective graphics and light bars very similar to those found on first responder vehicles.

Look for it around the community and – if you see it – take a photo and share it with us using #WBTVandMe.
