SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - A Salisbury woman has been arrested for her alleged connection to a deadly home invasion last month that left a mother of four dead.
Sindy Lina Abbitt, 33, is facing charges of first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators say the charges are in connection with a deadly home invasion along the 300-block of Crown Point Drive on May 24.
When officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Lacynda Diane Feimster dead inside her home. Feimster's brother says she celebrated one of her four children's birthdays earlier that day.
"She treated everyone with respect. She was funny, always had a smile on her face, " friend Amanda Drake said in May. "I would like to see this senseless crime that's taking over just stop, I mean, this is a mother and a sister and a daughter that many people, friends and family loved very much that was taken from us for no reason."
Feimster's brother says someone knocked on his sister's door and demanded money. He says that's when the shooting happened.
A second person at the home was hit in the face with a weapon. That person was taken to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center, treated and released.
