LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) - Two people are being treated in area burn centers after police in Lancaster say one person set the other person on fire late Thursday night.
According to police, officers were called to the 100-block of N. Gregory Street around 11:30 p.m. Thursday to the report of a person being set on fire. When they arrived, officers found a vehicle on fire and were told people in the area that the victim had been taken to Springs Memorial Hospital by private vehicle.
Officers were able to put the vehicle fire out.
According to police, the person believed to have started the fire, who was also suffering from "significant burns," was transported to Springs Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Both people, whose name and gender has not been released, were later flown to a regional burn center to be treated for serious burns.
