Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated will officially open a new Regional Sales and Distribution Center in Anderson County on June 23.

The Charlotte, NC-based independent Coca-Cola bottler invested $13.5 million to build the new 150,000 square foot sales and distribution facility on Highway 86 in Piedmont and create 147 new jobs, according to a news release.

“Coke Consolidated has a rich history in South Carolina, and we are excited and proud to expand our commitment to our customers there,” said Kimberly Kuo, Sr. VP Public Affairs. “Our business has always been about local connections, personal service and community engagement.  This state-of-the-art, 150,000 square foot facility on a beautiful 36-acre site will enable us to be more engaged with and more efficiently serve our retail customers and loyal consumers throughout Upstate South Carolina and North Georgia.  It has been a pleasure to work with Anderson County officials on this project and we look forward to joining them at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony next week.”

The Regional Sales and Distribution Center will handle sales and distribution of Coca-Cola products throughout Anderson, Pickens, Greenville, Oconee, Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick counties in South Carolina and Carnesville, Hartwell and Lavonia areas in Georgia. Drivers will run 40 routes daily to deliver more than 8.5 million cases a year, officials said.
