Sarah joined WBTV's sports team in September 2015. She couldn't be more thrilled to be back in Charlotte covering the city's champions.
Sarah was first introduced to the Queen City when she worked at Time Warner Cable News as a "one-man-band" reporter. That means she shot, edited and wrote her own stories. Sarah re-launched TWC's Salisbury Bureau covering breaking news and ongoing issues, like prayer at public county commission meetings and the marriage equality debate facing North Carolina at the time.
Before Sarah was in front of the camera, she tackled the concrete jungle fresh out of college. She worked as a photographer and field producer for New York City's 24-hour news channel, NY1. Sarah’s assignments included everything from five-alarm fires, hearings for 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and New Year's Eve in Times Square. For a girl from suburban Ohio, there was truly never a dull moment!
Sarah also spent more than two years behind the anchor desk for a leading station in West Virginia. There, Sarah was awarded Best Coverage of Breaking News by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. One of her favorite assignments was field-anchoring multiple days of coverage for the PGA Tour Greenbrier Classic.
Sarah was born and raised in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. She graduated magna cum laude from Point Park University in downtown Pittsburgh, where she was a Broadcast Journalism major.
Yes, that also makes her a Pittsburgh sports fan. Despite living in so many different cities, she loves that she finds Steelers fans everywhere she goes.
Sarah is always looking for the next adventure! When she isn’t working, you’ll likely find her checking out a new restaurant, and spending time with her family and friends.
