CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police say a man shot at officers while running away from a traffic stop Thursday night.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Jeremy Moody, 22, reportedly shot at Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers on Oaklawn Avenue.

CMPD says officers were following Moody until his vehicle hit a light pole. They say he shot at officers then took off running.

Moody and a passenger in his car were arrested. Moody faces felony gun charges, fleeing to elude arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving with a revoked license, hit and run and stop sign violation charges.

The passenger, 23-year-old Daniel Thomas, in his vehicle was wanted on an unrelated child support warrant.

A second passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No officers were hurt in the shooting.

Moody is expected to appear in court on Monday.
