YORK, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina sheriff says three law enforcement officers were ambushed as they searched for a man suspected of beating his wife in the couple's home. A fourth officer had been shot earlier in the search. York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson says one of the officers shot early Tuesday is "hanging on to life." The suspect, 47-year-old Christian Thomas McCall was also shot and the sheriff did not know his condition.

GREER, S.C. (AP) - Snow may be headed to South Carolina again. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for eight counties in the northwestern part of the state tonight and tomorrow. Up to 2 inches of snow is possible. Forecasters say up to 1 inch of snow is also possible in Chesterfield and Lancaster counties by Wednesday afternoon.
