CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The warm humid weather in the wake of Bonnie will linger over the viewing area for most of this week.
That will provide fuel for hit and miss showers and isolated thunderstorms. But the overall dynamics are lacking with little energy aloft and no significant surface fronts approaching, and widespread rain is unlikely.
Thus today and Wednesday will be partly sunny, warm and sticky with highs in the mid 80s. Showers and thunderstorms could bring a temporary halt to your afternoon plans, but the sun will come back out again fairly quickly.
By the 2nd half of the week, highs will still be in the mid 80s and the humidity will still be elevated as rain chances increase a bit. A cold front is expected to finally arrive over the weekend, bringing more chances for rain each day.
