ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

Four people had to be pulled from the water in Rock Hill after officials say it became too dark and the kayakers ran into trouble.

According to the Rock Hill Fire, two men and two women were in kayaks in the water along the Riverwalk around 8 p.m. Monday night. They were along the 500-block of Herrons Ferry Road.

Investigators say it became too dark and the group had to call 911 for help.

The kayakers were reportedly able to make it to a bank, but needed help getting out of the river. They are all now reportedly safe.
