MEMORIAL DAY FORECAST: Afternoon storm chances persist, Tropical depression Bonnie moves along Carolina coastline

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Tropical Depression Bonnie has winds of 30 mph as of Monday morning. The track hasn't varied much so it looks like it will hug the coast for a few days.

I expect we'll see mainly cloudy skies during the day on Monday.  By the late afternoon, the Charlotte area will see an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms. We're putting the chances at about 40%

The rest of the week will be more typical of summer with highs in the mid 80s and a chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Rain chances go up a bit by week's end.

Have a good Memorial Day!
