Found by heroes

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

What a relief.  9-year old Carlie Trent was found safely in the woods not far from where she was abducted by her uncle.  When authorities asked people to check their properties for any sign of Carlie, two men explored their land which could only be traversed by 4-wheel drive.  They found Carlie and 57-year old Gary Simpson, holding him at gunpoint until police arrived.  Police are calling them heroes.  And there’s more to this story we’ll tell you about at 11:00.

The Cornelius fireboat sent out video of a boat fire they extinguished on Lake Norman today.  We’ll show it to you. And we’ll show you the aftermath of the boat that burned down to the waterline.

Who would stab and rob a Charlotte mega-church worship leader in his home?  Police think they know and have arrested a man for allegedly stealing Matthew Bentley’s car, his phone and his wallet.  Tonight we’re hearing from the injured Bentley.

US House Speaker Paul Ryan says after his meeting with Donald Trump today, they are now planting the seeds to unify the party.  Trump says today’s meeting was a “very position step toward unification,” yet Ryan has yet to fully endorse the presumptive GOP nominee.

Please join Molly Grantham, Eric Thomas, Delano Little and me for WBTV News at 11:00 tonight!
